Son Ye-jin to lead in political thriller

The star’s entertainment agency CJ E&M confirmed that Son will have a lead role in the movie, tentatively titled “House Filled with Happiness.” Son is set to play Yeon-hong, the wife of a politician. Actor Kim Joo-hyuk will play her on-screen husband, an aspiring lawmaker running for a seat in the National Assembly.
Kim and Son previously appeared together in the 2008 film “My Wife Got Married.”
The thriller is set to follow the fictional couple during the ups and downs of the election campaign.
After casting is complete, the production team will begin filming next month.
Son previously declined a part in a television drama and has continued to pursue work in the film industry.
Last week, her agency confirmed that she decided not to participate in the upcoming KBS drama tentatively called “King’s Face,” scheduled to air in November.
