LG unveils two more colors for GS Cat.6 smartphones

LG Electronics announced it has added two colors for its G3 Cat.6 smartphone lineup. In addition to black, white and gold, a wine colored version of the smartphone will be available starting Tuesday and a “moon violet” version starting Friday. The retail price of the smartphones is 924,000 won ($908). Features on the smartphones are the same as the other three colors, including LTE-A service as well as laser auto focus cameras.

According to the company the Cat.6 offers a maximum download speed of 225 megabytes per second, which translates to 50 percent faster than existing LTE-A devices. It takes about 2.8 seconds to downloading a 80 megabyte music video and 36.4 seconds to download a 1 gigabyte movie.

“We’ve reflected our customer research, which showed high demand for the additional colors,” said Park Jong-seok, the company’s president and CEO for Mobile Communications. “We will continue to provide a wide range of choice for our customers.”
