Lotte to open major complex with hotel, offices in Hanoi

Lotte Asset Development, the construction arm of Lotte Group, said it had completed the construction of its first overseas high-rise multi-complex in Hanoi, Vietnam, yesterday.

Called Lotte Center Hanoi, the building was finished five years after it broke ground in 2009 and is expected to be opened next week. The 272-meter, 65-story building lies on a 14,000-square-meter (3.4-acre) area. It houses a large discount store, a department store, offices, serviced apartments and a hotel.

According to Lotte, the past five years of construction have created more than 1.8 million jobs. More than 3,000 workers are expected to be employed.

The opening ceremony next Tuesday will be attended by Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin.
