Lotte E&C completes Asia’s biggest wastewater facility

Lotte Engineering & Construction, Korea’s seventh-largest builder, said yesterday it has completed Asia’s largest wastewater treatment facility in Pohang, North Gyeongsang.
More than 500 guests attended a ceremony yesterday to celebrate the completion of the facility in Sangdo-dong in the southern part of the industrial city.
The water recycling facility is built on 16,200 square-meters (174,375 square feet) of land and is three stories high.
It will collect 230,000 tons of wastewater used by Pohang residents daily and convert them to 100,000 tons of industrial-use water that will be supplied Posco and other steel companies.
