A notice on the door at Jungang-dong branch of Korea Development Bank in Jeonju, North Jeolla, asks customers for their patience yesterday as labor unions at the nation’s banks participated in a one-day strike. Employees are demanding stable working conditions and an end to shrinking work forces and benefits. It was the first industrywide demonstration in 14 years, but many branches remained open with minimal inconvenience for customers. [NEWS1]
