Samsung Electronics drops its word processor for MS

Samsung Electronics said it was ditching its own word processor Hunminjeongeum and swapping it for MS Word as its global business expands.

The company said it will be using both Huminjeongeum and MS Word in the following three months before completely converting to MS Word starting Jan. 1, 2015.

Not only is MS Word more widely used across the globe, but it is available on smart devices including tablets. The company will be operating a customer center for Huminjeongeum until the end of 2019 in order to support private users or companies that uses Huminjeongeum processor.

The Korean company first developed the word processor in 1992 and adopted it as its standard word process since 1994.
