BMW and Incheon sign MOU for R&D center in economic zone

German automaker BMW and Incheon city government signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation on Thursday at the company’s headquarters in Munich. The MOU states that BMW will build its fifth foreign R&D center in Incheon’s Free Economic Zone and launch a pilot project for an electric car business in the city as well as hold a series of international marketing events for BMW Group. The R&D center will open in 2015 at BMW’s Driving Center on Yeongjong Island and employ about 20 people.
