Kumho announces creation of tire with low noise emission
Kumho Tire, the country’s second-largest tire manufacturer, said yesterday it has developed a new tire that emits a significantly lower noise.
The company said it has successfully reduced the noise that occurs when tires meet the surface of a road with use of sound-absorbent materials such as porous polyurethane foams.
It added that noise from the new tires is 8 percent lower compared to its current premium tires. The company will start producing the newly developed tires from early next year.
