SK Global Chemical completes joint plant in Ulsan
SK Global Chemical yesterday celebrated the completion of its Ulsan Aromatic Corporation (UAC) plant, which was jointly built by Japan’s largest energy company, JX Energy.
More than 300 guests were present at the completion ceremony in Ulsan.
The two companies invested a total of 936.3 billion won ($913 million) in the plant, which will produce one million tons of paraxylene a year and 600,000 tons of benzene. The production facility of the UAC was completed in March.
SK Global Chemical said that 95 percent of paraxylene and benzene produced at UAC will be exported.
