LS Cable & System announces $4 million Siemens contract
LS Cable & System, the nation’s largest cable maker, said yesterday it signed a contract to supply $4 million worth of bus ducts to Siemens.
Bus ducts are used for transmitting electricity in high-rise buildings, apartments and factories that use large quantities of power. Siemens has been involved in Russia’s $200 billion Yamal natural gas exploration project in Siberia.
LS Cable & System said it will supply bus ducts for two years starting in 2015. Ordinary bus ducts are resistant to temperatures down to minus 15 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit), but the company said its ducts can withstand temperatures to minus 55 degrees Celsius.
