Lotte Liquor reports some heady numbers on Kloud sales
More than 60 million bottles of Kloud have been sold since the beer debuted in April, Lotte Liquor said yesterday.
That translates into four bottles per second, with an average monthly sales growth of 30 percent.
The new beer is threatening to steal a share of the local market, long dominated by Oriental Brewery and Hite-Jinro. Lotte promoted Kloud with the slogan “original gravity.” Specific gravity of beer is a measure of density, Lotte says, and Kloud has denser gravity than its competitors.
Encouraged by the success of Kloud, Lotte Liquor plans to expand overseas. The company earlier this month said it exported 20,000 bottles of Kloud to Los Angeles.
