GM Korea reduces mileage rating for Chevrolet Cruze
GM Korea yesterday revised the fuel efficiency for its Chevrolet Cruze 1.8 gasoline model from 12.4 kilometers per liter (29 miles per gallon) to 11.3. The company said it rechecked the model’s fuel efficiency after it was selected as a “self-certificate” model this year, a system under which the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport verifies test results of automakers to run a self-test on their models. For the hatchback, the mileage numbers were lowered to 11.1 kilometers per liter from 12.4. The company said customers who bought the models through last Friday will be compensated up to 431,000 won ($403) based on the length of ownership.
