Mercedes-Benz was top-selling foreign automaker last month





Mercedes-Benz topped monthly foreign car sales for the second month in a row, beating its German rival BMW again.

The data released by the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (Kaida) yesterday showed that Mercedes-Benz sold 3,511 units in October, while BMW sold 3,480 units. In September, Mercedes-Benz became the top foreign brand by monthly sales for the first time in 29 months.

Audi had the third-most sales, with 1,933 units followed by Volkswagen with 1,759 units sold last month. Ford was No. 5 with 841 units. The best-selling model in October was Volkswagen’s popular hatchback Golf 2.0 TDI, which sold 602 units.

Kaida said that a total of 16,436 foreign cars were sold last month.
