Research team develops vaccine for horse influenza

A local research team has developed a vaccine for horse influenza, which Korea previously relied on imports for. The team from Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (Kribb) and Korea University transferred the technology to Green Cross Veterinary Products in October for a 60 million won ($54,545) deposit and 8 percent annual sales.

The vaccine is expected to be available commercially within two years after receiving government approval.
