Jaguar launches project for car to travel at supersonic speed
Jaguar said Thursday that it launched a project called “Bloodhound Supersonic Car Project” to develop a car that can run at supersonic speed.
The company said it will try to break the world record for the fastest car, which can go 440 kilometers per hour (275.9 miles per hour), by next year and will try to reach 1,000 miles per hour by 2016. A V8 super charger engine from Jaguar’s AWD F-Type R Coupe sports car with 550 horsepower will be used in the Bloodhound SCC.
