Shin’s funeral open for fans
A memorial marking 49 days since the late musician Shin Hae-chul has died will be open to his fans, according to his family.
Such a ceremony is usually limited to family only, but Shin’s relatives decided to open it to fans as a way to soothe the soul of the singer who abruptly fell ill after an abdominal surgery.
The family also wanted to show appreciation to the fans who paid their condolences to Shin.
During Shin’s wake, which was held for five days, about 16,000 fans visited his mourning altar.
The funeral ceremony marking 49 days since the musician’s death will take place at Utopia Mourning Shelter, located in Ansung, Gyeonggi, on Dec. 14. Fans are able to visit the memorial starting at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, songs composed by Shin before his death will be unveiled to the public after the ceremony.
The works of Shin will be included in N.EX.T’s new album, which will be released in December. Shin was a vocalist in the rock group.
