Psy’s follow-up album is stalled

Psy

The new album from “Gangnam Style” star Psy is not likely to be released this year, according to people who are close to him.

Multiple local online newspapers reported on Monday that Psy “decided to start from square one by giving up on ‘Daddy,’ which was supposed to be his next title track.”

“He said he didn’t like the songs [that have been produced for the new album],” the source told SportsWorld.

In fact, the release of Psy’s new album has been delayed several times.

When Psy unveiled his single “Hangover” in June, he teased the title “Daddy” for his upcoming album at the end of the music video, in which he joined forces with American rapper Snoop Dogg.

Billboard.com also ran a news story around the time saying, “Psy is preparing to release his new album in August and his new song will be a dance tune entitled ‘Daddy.’”

People who work in the entertainment industry say Psy is probably under a lot of pressure after “Hangover” failed to impress his fans.

Instead of working on his next album, Psy is preparing for end-of-year concerts that will be held from Dec. 19 to 21 and on Christmas Eve at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Bangyi-dong, Songpa District, southeastern Seoul.

Psy’s “All Night Stand” is one of the best-selling tours of the year. The dress code for this year’s concert is Santa Claus costumes.
