Lotteria opens first franchise burger restaurant in Vietnam

Lotteria, a fast food restaurant chain, said Wednesday it has opened its first overseas franchise in Vietnam’s capital city, Hanoi.

Until now, the company has directly operated all of its overseas branches, but the Vietnamese store will be the first to be run as by a franchise owner. The hamburger chain said that it will increase the number of franchise Lotteria stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to 15.

Lotteria recruited franchise owners at an event in Vietnam from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. The chain decided to increase its number of franchises to boost its presence overseas.
