Yoon, ‘K6’ winners to team up

Kwak Jin-un, the winner of the popular TV audition program “Super Star K6,” and Kim Pil, the show’s runner-up, are set to team up with singer-songwriter and producer Yoon Jong-shin.

Yoon, who was a judge on the reality TV show, releases a new song each month as part of his Monthly Project Yoon Jong-shin.

The producer collaborates with other musicians for the initiative, sometimes giving them the material to perform or joining in with them. Yoon, who started the project in 2010, has so far released about 70 songs, working with a variety of emerging entertainers and veteran musicians, including R&B singer Park Jung-hyun, also known as Lena Park.

He told the media that he initiated the project so as not to lose ground as a singer.

“[2010] was the year when I celebrated the 20th anniversary of my debut. Looking at the changing music market, I feared I might not be able to perform anymore one day.

“So I made up my mind to release a song every month, not just once a year.”

Details regarding which song Kwak and Kim will perform as part of the project have not yet been released. The two have also been invited to Yoon’s concert, which will be held Dec. 13 at Olympic Park, Bangyi-dong, in southeastern Seoul.
