Oilers beat Sharks for first win in 11 games

David Perron scored the game winner midway through the third period as the Edmonton Oilers beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 and ended an 11-game losing streak on Sunday.
Nail Yakupov also scored for the Oilers, who won at home for the first time in nine games. Edmonton got its first win against a Western Conference opponent.
Tye McGinn scored the goal for the Sharks, who had a four-game winning streak halted.
Tomas Tatar scored two goals and Pavel Datsyuk added a goal and two assists to lead the Red Wings over the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1. Petr Mrazek made 34 saves for Detroit, who have won three in a row.
