SM Entertainment, home to top K-pop musicians Super Junior and Girls’ Generation, said on Wednesday that it will hold global auditions between January and May next year in 28 cities of nine countries.
The international auditions will take place in countries such as Singapore, Canada, Indonesia, China and Kazakhstan in order to find the next big star. SM said it has added Russia and Mongolia to the list this year, too.
Auditions will also take place across Korea in five major cities, including Seoul, Jeonju, Daegu and Busan. The auditions in Seoul are scheduled to be held on Jan. 9 and 11 at Coex Artium, located in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul.
More detailed information about the worldwide auditions are available on SM Entertainment’s official website.
SM said it had 80,000 applicants for last year’s global auditions.
There are five categories in the applications for the auditions: singing, dancing, acting, modeling and composing.
Anyone is eligible to apply for the auditions regardless of nationality and age. Those who win will be eligible to sign contracts with the agency.
