CEO of KT selected for Unesco and ITU Broadband Committee

Hwang Chang-gyu, CEO of the nation’s second-largest mobile carrier KT, was named as a member of the Broadband Committee, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Unesco, the company said on Thursday.

The establishment of the committee was led by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in 2010 to improve the world’s broadband infrastructure and digital environment. A total of 57 government officials, executives of global ICT companies and academics are members of the committee.

“I’m very pleased to be a part of the ITU-Unesco Broadband Committee,” Hwang said.
