Votes close for Winner, Got7
Boy groups Winner and Got7 are fiercely competing with each other for the new singer of the year awards at the upcoming 2015 Golden Disc Awards, which will be held in Beijing next month.As of early Thursday morning, Winner earned 197,273 votes, or 48.8 percent of the votes, during early voting for the awards. Archrival Got7 earned 197,110, or 48.7 percent.
Early voting began Dec. 10. Fans are able to cast their votes for three different awards - new singer of the year, album of the year and digital single of the year - through the official smartphone app of the Golden Disc Awards.
The number of votes each musician or idol group earns are reflected in the total scores, and people who participated in voting are eligible to win tickets to the ceremony and other gifts.
The 2015 Golden Disc Awards will be held in Beijing between Jan. 14 and 15 and will be broadcast live through China’s biggest video streaming website, Iqiyi.com.
In Korea, the two-day awards show will air on JTBC. Along with the awards ceremonies, K-pop stars from boy and girl groups to indie musicians will perform at the awards.
