‘Running Man’ meets fans

Popular reality TV show “Running Man” held its final fan meet in Taiwan on Jan. 17.

The cast of the popular TV show began holding fan meet events in Asia last year but the Taiwan event was Yoo Jae-suk’s first because of his tight schedule.

When Yoo arrived at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on Jan. 16 with his teammate actor Lee Kwang-soo, hundreds of fans were there to greet them.

Yoo and Lee joined other members of the “Running Man” cast the next day for the meet up.

Launched in July 2010, the reality TV show is especially popular in Asia.

Chinese TV channel Zhejiang Television has even made its own version called “Hurry Up, Brothers” but the Korean version is still popular there.

With the immense popularity of the show overseas, Kim Jong-kook, one of the hosts, resumed his singing career in China recently and Lee was chosen as the first foreign celebrity to endorse a Nestle snack in Macau and Hong Kong.

Each episode of “Running Man” is based on a theme and guests and hosts are given missions, such as finding a jewel that gives absolute power.
