Shut down

A closure sign is seen on Tuesday at a playground in an apartment complex in Seoul. About 1,600 playgrounds that either did not pass or have not gone through a safety inspection were shuttered this month. The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced last August that local playgrounds that did not receive safety inspections would be dismantled by Jan. 26. [NEWSIS]
