Big Bang on New Year show

K-pop boy band Big Bang will appear in a Chinese TV show that will be airing during the Lunar New Year holidays.

YG Entertainment, the agency of the five-member boy band, recently said Big Bang finished shooting the Chinese TV show late last month at Shanghai and the show will hit the airwaves on Feb. 19.

YG added that Big Bang was the only Korean group invited to be on Dragon TV’s “Lunar New Year Special” and the boy band sang such hits as “Fantastic Baby,” “Tonight” and “Bad Boy.”

Seungri, the youngest member of the boy band, reportedly spoke in Chinese after fielding questions from the Chinese hosts.

Big Bang recently finished a concert tour in Japan and is working on its next album, which will be released in Korea.

Big Bang hinted several times before that it would soon release an album in Korea.

The members haven’t released music together in more than three years.

Although Taeyang and G-Dragon, two members of the band, formed a hip-hop duo last year, fans have been waiting for a long time to see Big Bang together.

“We delayed releasing studio albums several times before perhaps because we all have high expectations for them,” G-Dragon said in an interview with Japanese magazine “Hopp Hopp” late last year.

“One thing I can tell you for sure is that you can see a new album from Big Bang next year.”
