CL’s photo seems to tease U.S. debut
A black-and-white photo of CL, a member of 2NE1, was uploaded Thursday on the girl group’s official Weibo account.
In the photo, CL seems to be recording a song inside a studio.
There was no caption alongside the picture, but fans instantly assumed that the 24-year-old is recording music for her upcoming debut album that will be released in the United States.
The singer joined hands late last year with Psy’s North American representative, Scooter Braun, who also handles other pop stars such as Justin Bieber.
CL is hoping for a successful debut into the world’s largest music market.
Since CL spent her childhood overseas with her family, she is fluent in English and other foreign languages. Many industry insiders see this as one of CL’s strong points, along with her musical talent.
Even before her debut, many global music websites and magazines such as Billboard.com, Dazed and Confused and Fuse TV ran feature stories about CL and her upcoming debut in the United States late last year.
