Daelim Industrial plans $67 million Yeosu expansion
Daelim Industrial said on Monday it will spend 74 billion won ($67 million) by November 2016 to expand its high reactive polybutene plant in Yeosu, South Jeolla. The company said the Yeosu plant’s annual production capacity will increase from 65,000 tons to 100,000 tons after the expansion.The company said the expansion could make it the world’s No. 1 producer of polybutene, a material used for lubricants, as its total production capacity will be 185,000 tons a year, beating Germany’s BASF, which produces about 140,000 tons a year.
