Woori, YG Entertainment team up
Woori Bank and Woori Card on Monday introduced a new debit card that gives discounts on tickets for concerts by Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1 and other YG Entertainment performers.
Launched in partnership with the entertainment company, the Woori YG Check Card also offers discounts on online shopping at the YG e-Shop, which sells YG and celebrity merchandise. Additional discounts on tickets for movies, amusement parks and online bookstores also are included.
Along with the first-ever debit card targeted at a specific fan base, the two Woori financial institutions announced the Woori YG Savings account.
The one-year savings account offers a 2.5 percent interest rate on deposits of 30,000 won ($27) to 300,000 won.
Emblazoned with the logo of YG Entertainment, the gray debit card and bankbook are available at any Woori Bank branch nationwide.
To celebrate the debut of the card, YG Entertainment will give away a tour of its headquarters - including a rehearsal room, recording studio and restaurant used by YG singers - in Hapjeong-dong, western Seoul. Anyone who spends at least 100,000 won using the debit card will be entered to win a limited-edition card.
“It is a specially manufactured card with new material,” a Woori Card official said. “It is the same card offered to YG artists.”
