Park wins first gold in her new event
Park Seung-hi, a former Olympic short track champion who switched to speed skating in October, won the gold medal in women’s 1,000-meter speed skating at the 96th National Winter Sports Festival on Thursday at Taereung Ice Rink in Seoul.She finished the race in 1:20.14 to claim her first speed skating gold. Park previously won three gold medals at the winter festival in short track.
On Wednesday, she finished second in women’s 500-meter race.
