San E joins charity recording

Korean rapper San E has participated in a global hip-hop project called #HIPHOPISHIPHOP as a representative of Korea, according to Brand New Music, the agency of the 30-year-old singer.

Brand New Music said the global project is similar to “We Are the World,” a song originally released in 1985 to raise money for African famine relief.

Through the hip-hop project, in which 14 rappers from 14 different countries are involved, the song will be used to raise money for charitable work.

“We are so honored to be part of this project,” said Brand New Music in a press release on Sunday.

Along with San E, famed hip-hop musicians including KRS-One from the United States, Redrama of Finland and Strike The Head of Italy will also join the project.

A digital single for the global hip-hop project will be unveiled to the public on Thursday.

Having started out in 2008, San E had his busiest year in 2014 as his collaboration on “Mid Summer Night’s Sweetness,” in which he paired up with Raina, a member of the girl group After School, became a huge hit.
