[New Releases] COFFEE BOY
Label: Roasting Music
Genre: Rock, folk
As you can tell from the title, singer-songwriter Coffee Boy’s third album “Cheer Up” will stimulate the emotions of those who need a little joy in their life. His soft and calm voice over the guitar, piano and cello is really soothing after a tiring day at work.
The lyrics of all 12 songs aim to uplift listeners. “Vitamin in the Morning” begins with a light tune. The lyrics even tell you to “take a deep breath” and that “it’s going to be a very happy day.”
The title track “Cheer Up” is more suitable for after work. Coffee Boy sings with a lower voice, telling you to “cheer up even though you’re tired and exhausted or your head is starting to ache, just try to get through today.”
“Happiness Spell” is another highlight. “You’ll be happy, you will be happy” Coffee Boy croons, as if he’s casting a spell on you.
Fans who like the artist for his indie-music style can skip listening to “I need you.” It’s a trot-style song that seems like the songwriter became bored writing all 12 tracks on the album and wanted a little change of genre.
