Stars pay tribute to the Sewol victims

테스트

Several celebrities took part in commemorating the first anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster on Thursday. Some paid tribute to the victims through social media and some wrote hand-written letters.

Actress Jung Ryeo-won posted the comment, “Let’s remember 2014.04.16” on her Instagram account on Wednesday while model-turned-actor Kim Woo-bin, whose latest work is the film “Twenty,” wrote a personal letter to Kim Hye-sun, one of the deceased Danwon High School students, who was a great fan of his.

“Kim answered yes to the victim’s friends who contacted us and asked for Kim’s letter to their departed friend,” said Kim’s agency SidusHQ.

In addition, singer Kim Dong-wan, a member of the K-pop boy band Shinhwa, posted a message on his Facebook on Monday in response to the first anniversary of the disaster.

“Many students died from the accident. Is compensating with money the only answer to solving the problem?” said the singer. “We wish for a country where citizens no longer have to undergo such accidents. Please find out the cause of the accident and work on eliminating any potential causes to prevent further accidents.”
