A rare photographic portrait of Nam June Paik(1932-2006), the Korean-born artist considered to be the founder of video art, will be on display at the G-Seoul 2015 International Art Fair.
The four-day art market opens on Thursday at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in central Seoul.
The photo of Paik was taken in 2003 by Kim Yong-ho, an esteemed photographer encompassing both commercial and fine-art work. Kim will present not only the portrait but also a video titled “Wheelchair Level Eye” showing the streets of New York taken with a camera attached to the wheelchair used by Paik in his final years. The pieces are part of G-Seoul’s special show dedicated to Paik.
Twenty-two galleries will participate in the fair, presenting 200 works by 100 artists.
