Hanaro Clubs offer discounts for Nonghyup’s anniversary

The retail business of the nation’s biggest agriculture cooperative, Nonghyup, will be holding a major sale to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The retailer said Tuesday that it will offer up to a 60 percent discount at its 24 Hanaro Club stores nationwide through May 17. As a result, 1.2 kilogram worth (2.2 pounds) of famous Jeju citrus hallabong will be offered at 5,500 won ($5), while six to 10 fresh onions will be sold for 2,180 won.
Thirty pieces of fresh garlic will be sold for 8,200 won, while a dried yellow corvina will be sold at 18,500 won for 1.4 kilograms.
Additional discounts will be offered when purchasing using one of four credit cards - NH Nonghyup, KB Kookmin, BC and Lotte cards.
With the discount a 100-gram top quality hanwoo will be retailed at 4,690 won while a 5-kilogram water melon will be sold at 8,900 won.
Other perks include random giveaways, including cars, air purifiers and tickets to concerts and theme parks.
In celebrating its two decades of running the retail business Nonghyup will be sponsiring various volunteer work.
