Channel to promote small business

CJ O Shopping said it will start a 24-hour shopping channel and one of its purposes is to promote products manufactured by small and medium-sized enterprises - and it won’t charge the manufacturers sales commission.
The company said Wednesday that CJ O Shopping Plus channel will debut on May 27.
The channel will utilize T-commerce, a system that combines TV home shopping with Internet shopping.
Viewers of the shopping channel can purchase items by simply clicking their remote controls.
The company said CJ O Shopping Plus will run a special section promoting products by SMEs. Those products will be identified by a banner that reads “Special section on shared growth and creative economy,” both of which are being promoted by the government. Viewers can simply click on the banner to purchase the goods.
If any of the SME products reach a certain level of sales, they will be offered on one of the main shows.
“This will provide practical help for SMEs that have trouble finding sales channels,” said Shin Hee-gwon, head of the T-commerce task force at the company.”
