Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov, left, and Korean President Park Geun-hye greet children waving the national flags of the two countries during a welcome ceremony at the Blue House on Thursday. The two leaders agreed at a bilateral summit meeting that the countries will promote investment projects in which Korean companies can directly invest or can export cutting-edge technologies. Karimov chose Korea as the first country to visit after he was elected president in March. The two countries signed 12 memorandums of understanding including joint research projects.
