True to form, France sweeps Korean men
The Korean men’s volleyball team lost to France on two consecutive days in the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League, marking 11 straight losses against the European nation since 2011.At Suwon Gymnasium on Sunday, Korea, which is in Pool D of Group 2 in the World League, was beaten by France 3-0 (17-25, 21-25, 21-25). On Saturday, it lost to France 1-3 (30-28, 23-25, 18-25, 16-25).
Korea hosts the Czech Republic this weekend in Cheonan, South Chungcheong, before playing Japan on June 13-14 back in Suwon, Gyeonggi.
After finishing games at home, the team will travel to Japan, the Czech Republic and France until July 4. Only the winner of the pool advances to the final round of Group 2.
Coach Moon Yong-kwan said Korea’s goal for the World League is to collect five wins.
