Finance Minister Choi Kyung-hwan will travel to Europe later this week to promote investment in Korea Inc.
According to the Korean Ministry of Finance on Monday, Choi will travel to Paris to attend the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s two-day ministerial council meeting, which starts on Wednesday. He will then head to London on June 5 to hold an investors’ relations (IR) event where he will talk about Korea’s macroeconomic environment as well as challenges and recent government-led restructuring and reform.
This is the second international IR meeting that the Finance Ministry is holding under Choi. The first was in New York last year. The ministry said the event is being staged to increase the credibility of the Korean economy while taking pre-emptive action against possible instability caused by the U.S. central bank’s raising of interest rates.
