JYP Entertainment, popular boy group 2PM’s agency, reported on Wednesday that it filed a lawsuit against an Internet user for defamation a month ago.
“We accused the Internet user on May 29 of habitually insulting 2PM members’ appearances and their families, along with committing sexual offences over the last few years,” according to a press report the talent agency released on Wednesday. “We will definitely not make favorable arrangements to someone who wrote false information or malicious comments regarding JYP’s artists.”
The Internet user made various negative comments in relation to members of the boy group. He or she posted a comment congratulating Jun. K after his father passed away and even shared pictures of a skull and ashes, claiming they belonged to the deceased father. The talent agency emphasized that this was not socially acceptable.
The boy group will make a comeback within this month. One of 2PM’s members, Junho, will release his third Japanese single, “So Good,” in July.
