KT Wiz mounts comeback with record-breaking wins

KT Wiz is still the league bottom, but things may be looking up.
Last week, the rookie club earned the franchise record of five straight wins - including a sweep against the Lotte Giants.
The Suwon-based club also broke its record for most runs scored, with 16 against the Giants last Thursday. The previous record, 13 runs, was achieved against the Hanwha Eagles on May 24.
The Wiz had .189 winning percentage until last month, but this month, it has won seven out of 12 games so far.
The team’s performance has improved largely because of a boost in its offense.
In April, the Wiz’s team batting average was just .208 and just .263 in May, but as of Sunday, it was .303 thanks to performances of Dan Black and Andy Marte, who has returned from injury.
The Eagles also impressed last week with a sweep of defending champion Samsung Lions in weekday games.
This was the first time in seven years that the Daejeon-based club won all three games against the Lions in the league.
Both teams will face league No. 1 NC Dinos, which edge the Lions by just .002 in winning percentage, this week.
The Wiz will host the Dinos from Tuesday to Thursday, while the Eagles will travel to Changwon to face the Dinos from Friday.
