Pork, shown on display at a major discount store in central Seoul on Sunday, has become considerably more expensive this year. According to the Korea Institute for Animal Product Quality Evaluation, the price of pork has risen 30 percent this year. A kilogram of pork sold for an average of 4,453 won ($4.03) on Jan. 2.
