HHI’s new look Seamarq Hotel ready for business in Gangwon

Hyundai Heavy Industries will open its newly refurbished Seamarq Hotel in Gangneung, Gangwon, today.

The hotel was designed by Richard Meier, winner of Pritzker Prize, an internationally-renowned award in architecture, who designed Getty Center in Los Angeles.

The company installed solar and geothermal energy as well as LED lighting. Cultural artifacts from the Silla Dynasty are also on display throughout the hotel.

Previously known as the Hotel Hyundai Gyeongpodae, the property opened in 1971. The remodeling of the hotel started in 2013.
