Woori Card Hansae signs Latvian veteran

Woori Card Hansae said Tuesday it signed Latvian player Gundars Celitans for the new season of the Korea professional volleyball league (V-League). The details of the deal wasn’t announced.

Celitans, 30, has been playing in various leagues around Europe.

From 2009 to 2012, he was with Turkey’s Halkbank Ankara before taking the top-scorer title in Italy’s Modena in 2013. Last season, Celitans played for Turkey’s Istanbul Buyukehir Belediyesi.

Woori Card finished bottom in men’s division with three wins and 33 losses last season.
