Kia’s K5 sedan a hit so far with consumers in their 20s and 30s

Kia Motors said on Tuesday that it has received more than 6,000 pre-orders for the new K5 sedan in the 11 days since it started taking orders. Customers in their 20s and 30s made up 45 percent of total orders so far.

According to the company, consumers showed particular interest in the next-generation UVO 2.0 infotainment system, which connects with the driver’s smartphone to remotely start the car, and its trendy design features, such as the wide panorama sunroof, HID head lamp and 18-inch wheels.

Kia Motors hopes to increase its appeal in the country’s mid-size sedan market. The 1.7 diesel model is priced between 24.8 million won and 29.2 million won, while its 2.0 gasoline model sells for 22.45 million won to 28.7 million won.
