Wyvens sign lefty Chris Seddon

The SK Wyverns said Thursday they have signed the left-handed pitcher Chris Seddon for the remainder of this season. The 31-year-old American returns to his former team in Korea after two years away.

Seddon replaces Travis Banwart, who injured his right wrist after being hit by a ball during a game against the KT Wiz on Wednesday. The right-handed Banwart reportedly will need two months to recover.

Seddon was 2-3 with a 5.47 ERA in 38 games in the U.S. majors. In the minors, he amassed 104 wins and 93 losses with 4.55 ERA in 286 games.

He performed well with the Wyverns in 2013 but was unimpressive with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan last year; he played earlier this season in Taiwan.
