Samsung Electronics holds network tech parley in Suwon

Samsung Electronics said it held a network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined network (SDN) symposium in Suwon on Friday. It said some 200 people from leading IT companies including Intel, Broadcom and Brocade participated in the event to share information on market trends.
NFV and SDN are mobile communication network technologies that are considered vital in realizing the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
“The conversion to NFV and SDN technology is a global trend in stepping up to the next telecommunication technology development, which includes 5G,” said Park Dong-soo, Vice President of Samsung Electronics for the network business. “Customers will be able to receive a telecommunication service that has been maximized to the individual’s character and preference due to a flexible network and innovative controls.”
