Kim confirmed for ‘Cheese’

Actress Kim Go-eun has been confirmed to star in tvN’s new drama “Cheese in the Trap.”

The lead female role for the webtoon-based drama, which will also feature actor Park Hae-jin, has been at the center of attention, as a few popular celebrities, such as Suzy from girl group Miss A, were mentioned for the part.

According to a spokesperson for Kim, “Even though Go was offered to play the role, she couldn’t accept it right away because of her schedule.

“However, as the director offered her the position quite a few times and also rescheduled the [timing] of the drama, Go made a last-minute decision to join the upcoming work.”

“Also, after talking with the director about Go’s character, the actress felt more confidence in the project and felt attracted to Hong Seol,” the character that Go will take on.

“Cheese in the Trap” will be the first drama series for the 24-year-old, who debuted in 2012 with the film “A Muse.” Thanks to her critically acclaimed acting in movies such as “Coin Locker Girl” released in April, she has won various awards, including the Fantasia Award at the 19th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and Star Asia Rising Star Award at the 12th New York Asian Film Festival.
