Lotte Outlets offer discounts, freebies for summer

테스트

As the government works to salvage the tourism industry heavily affected by the outbreak of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), Lotte Department Store will offer a package of benefits and promotional events until Aug. 9 for visitors to all of its Lotte Outlet stores, including 50 percent discounts on entrance fees for major tourist attractions in Korea.

Under the event dubbed “Enjoy Summer Vacation with Lotte Outlet,” Lotte Department Store will provide online coupons discounting entrance fees for 20 tourist destinations located close to Lotte Outlet’s branches around the country, from 10 percent to 50 percent.

One of the coupons takes 40 percent off entry to Lotte Water Park, located near the Lotte Outlet store in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang, around Busan. A coupon for Termeden, a German-style hot spring resort in Icheon, Gyeonggi, cuts the entrance fee in half.

The coupons, valid until Aug. 9, can all be downloaded from the Lotte Outlet website, according to the company.

Visitors to two or more Lotte Outlet stores through Aug. 9 can also earn various rewards. Those who visit two Lotte Outlet stores and spend more than 500,000 won ($427) or 1 million won will get gift cards worth either 25,000 won or 50,000 won, the company said.

Regardless of the amount of their spending, anyone who visits two or more Lotte Outlet stores will get a set of four toothbrushes and four toothpastes.

Some exotic events will be also arranged. At the Lotte Outlet branch in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang, a booth will be on display that simulates the Antarctic for visitors.

At the store in Paju, Gyeonggi, customers can enjoy spa treatments for their feet, dubbed “Summer Foot Spa Cafe.”

At the branch in eastern Busan, a cafeteria selling beer and barbecue will be arranged.

Discounts on swimsuits and other vacation essentials by Italian brand Fila will also be offered at the branch in Icheon, Gyeonggi, starting Friday through Aug. 6.

At the branch in Seoul Station, a buy one, get one event will be held for several youth brands like Giordano, FRJ and TBJ until Aug. 5.

“As people are being encouraged to spend their holiday in the country, we launched a series of events related to local tourist destinations,” said Lee Jang-hwan, a manager at Lotte Department Store.

“Through this event, we hope to contribute to the rebounding of the local tourism industry, as well as the stimulation of domestic consumption.”
