Naver sees healthy growth in sales, drop in operating profit
Naver, the nation’s largest web portal company, suffered a drop in its operating profit in the second quarter largely due to increased marketing and labor costs as well as spending on M&As.According to the company on Thursday, revenue in the April-June period grew 13.8 percent from a year ago. Operating profit shrunk 11.6 percent year-on-year and 12.9 percent quarter-to-quarter. Operating costs have gone up 23.5 percent compared to a year ago.
